It takes an image of human model and an image of a garment along with the category of the cloth like tops, bottoms, and one piece and return image of that person wearing the garment.

Functionality Behind Fashn-VTON-1.5

This VTON works using three major components:

1) Person Understanding (Human Parsing + Pose Estimation)

The model first understands the person image for pose landmarks and body segmentation mask, and extarcts face region arms, torso, legs and background.

This step helps the model know: where cloth should be placed and what should remain unchanged (face, hands, etc.)

2) Cloth Warping (Geometric Alignment)

Usually clothes images are flat but human bodies are 3D bent, and dynamic. To solve this mismatch we use cloth warping.

The warping module reshapes the garment to match the person’s shoulder width ,torso angle, arm position and body posture.

By using geometric transformations such as Thin Plate Spline (TPS) the system performs streching, bending and body adaption.

It generates a warped cloth map that already matches the person’s pose and proportions before image generation.

3) Diffusion-Based Generation

Instead of directly pasting the warped cloth onto the body, the system uses a diffusion-based generation process, similar in spirit to Stable Diffusion.

With the help of diffusion model it reconstructs missing pixels to produce realistic fabric folds and shadows with consistent lighting, and seamless blending with the person’s skin and body.
