    Odoo Mass Mailing With Other Outgoing Server

    INTRODUCTION


    By default, Odoo automatically picks a mail server from the servers list according to its priority set in the configuration while sending emails from Odoo backend. You can now configure Outgoing Mail server in Odoo with ‘Odoo Mass mailing with Other Outgoing Server’ plugin.

    The module allows you to choose the outgoing server while sending mass mail to people from Odoo’s backend.

    The Odoo user can either set a desired default mail outgoing server in the settings or select one while before sending mass mail each time.

    FEATURES


    • The module allows the Odoo user to choose an outgoing mail server while sending mass emails in Odoo.
    • The Odoo user can set the desired outgoing mail server in the settings. Once set the mass emails will be sent using this server.
    • The user can also choose an outgoing mail server in each mass mailing template.

    INSTALLATION


    1.) Once you purchase the App from Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the zip file of the module.

    2.) Extract the file on your system after the download finishes. You will be able to see a folder named- ‘mass_mailing_outgoing_mailserver’.

    3.) Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.

    4.) Now, open the Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.

    5.) Then, open on Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List’.

    6.) In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘mass_mailing_outgoing_mailserver’.

    7.) You will be able to see the module in the search result. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.

    WORKFLOW


    1.) Activate the developer mode in Odoo. Now, go to Settings >> Technical >> Mails >> Outgoing Mail Server.

    2.) Here you can configure outgoing mail servers in your Odoo. Click on create and fill the details to add a new server.

    3.) Now, go to Email Marketing >> Settings. Under Outgoing Mail Server select the server you wish to use to send the marketing emails. The server set here will be used automatically by Odoo to send the marketing emails.

    4.) Now go to mass mailing. Click on create.

    5.) If you wish to use a different mail server just for this mass mail than the one set in the settings, click on Options tab next to ‘Mail Body’.

    6.) Here select the server next to the outgoing mail server field. Now, Odoo will use this server instead to send this mail.

    Note: If you do not set any server here, the system will pick the one chosen in the settings in Step 3.

    7.) Fill in the details of the mail and click send.

    8.) Now, go to Settings >> Technical >> Mails >> Emails. Here you can view the history of the sent emails.

    9.) Click on any mail to open it. Under the ‘Advanced’ tab, You can see the outgoing mail server used to send this mail.
