As the name suggest backup/restore, it is important that you take care of keeping the backup of necessary data. There are numerous risks from external and internal sources that may hold your data due to some error. Generally, whenever an error occurs while validating the order from POS session or in case of a connection failure, other orders will also get on hold with the order which has an error.
So to avoid this situation, Webkul is offering a module “Odoo POS Orders Backup/Restore” which provides the mechanism in which POS user can have the backup for the time. Also, the POS user can download all the unsaved orders.
- A seller can download the unsaved Order(s) data easily from the browser’s local storage whenever an error occurs while validating an order from the POS Session or in case of a connection failure.
- A seller can easily download and keep a backup of the unsaved orders locally.
- Also, the seller can restore the backup of the unsaved orders when the connection is restored.
How does it work?
If an error occurs while validating the order, the seller can save his unsaved orders by clicking on the “cloud-like” icon. A pop will arise with two options –
1) Delete Unsaved Orders which will delete unsaved orders.
2)Download Unsaved Orders which will download the unsaved orders in JSON format
1-When you will click on “Delete Unsaved Orders”, a pop up will again arise asking you for the confirmation for removing the orders which are saved locally.
2-Similarly, on downloading the JSON file of Unsaved orders from POS end. Click on ” Import Data and create Orders” to select the JSON file and choose the desired operation.

To create or re-sync the orders click on “Create Orders”.
Consequently, the result of the restore operations will display.
