With the PrestaShop Marketplace Product Question Answer module, sellers can easily add questions & answers for their products and provide the necessary product information to the users. Users can also post the questions they have regarding products and get the answer which will help them with the purchase decision. The marketplace sellers can view all the questions and answers posted for their products under one tab which will help them analyze the user requirements.
Note: PrestaShop Marketplace Product Question Answer module is compatible with PrestaShop version 8.x.x.
Features of the PrestaShop Marketplace Product Question Answer module
- Admin can allow only registered customers or everyone to post the questions and answers.
- Enable/Disable the automatic approval of questions and answers.
- Admin can enable/disable the manual approval of questions and answers by him/seller.
- Specify the character limit within which users can post questions and answers.
- Set the minimum words required to post a question.
- Display the questions according to number of votes or date.
- Allow/Disallow customers to like/dislike the answers.
- Admin can allow/disallow the customers to report abuse for an answer.
- Admin can add new question for the seller’s products and answer for the question.
- Display the answers according to “likes” or “date”.
- Enable/Disable the display of reCAPTCHA to users while posting questions and answers.
- Configure on which events admin, sellers, and customers will receive email notifications.
- Sellers can enable/disable/edit questions and answers if allowed by admin from backend.
- Sellers can view list of products for which the users have posted questions and answers.
- View list of questions and answers posted for a product.
- View the date of posted question and answer from back office.
- Sellers can view number of votes given to a particular question.
- Add new question for a product and answer for the question.
- A search bar added in the “Questions and Answers” section from where a user can search for the desired question.
- Choose the position to display the question and answers block, either at Product Footer or in Product Tab
- The module is multi-shop compatible with PrestaShop Advanced Multi-Vendor Marketplace version 5.4.0/3.4.0 and above.
NOTE: PrestaShop Marketplace Product Question Answer module is only compatible with Webkul’s GDPR Compliance module.
How to install the module?
In order to install the module, you need to install the PrestaShop Advanced Multi-Vendor Marketplace module first.
After installing the marketplace module, you can now proceed to install the PrestaShop Marketplace Product Question Answer module.
- Firstly, Go to the Module Manager in Back office and click on ‘upload a module’.
- After that, Drag and drop the module file or select the file from the system.
- In this way, the module installation will be successful.
How to configure the module?
After the installation of the module, a new tab “Products Questions and Answers” add under the “Marketplace”. Admin can configure the module settings from here.
Display setting
Under “Display Settings” the admin can choose the position to display the question and answers.
The admin has two position options to select from:
1. Product Footer
2. Product Tab
Product Footer
If the admin selects the “Product Footer” option to display the Questions and Answers then the question and answer will be displayed in the footer of the product page.
Product Tab
If the admin selects the option “Product Tab” to display the question and answer section then it will be displayed in a separate tab named “Question and answers” next to the product details and description tab.
Question setting
Under “Question“, the admin can:
- Choose who can post questions for the product.
- Decide whether the seller needs to approve the question or not.
- Allow/Disallow sellers to enable/disable/edit the questions posted for their products.
- Set minimum words required and maximum characters allowed for posting a question.
- Decide the sequence in which questions will display on the product page.
Display questions according to votes
If an admin has selected “vote” in the “Question sequence” field and “Ascending Order” in the “Question sorting” field. In this case, questions with a minimum number of votes will display first.
Questions with a maximum number of votes will display first if ‘vote’ is selected in the “Question sequence” field and ‘Descending Order’ in the “Question Sorting” field.
Display Questions Date Wise
If the admin has selected “Date” in the “Question sequence” field and “Ascending Order” in the “Question sorting” field. In this case, questions will display in the oldest to the newest sequence.
Suppose customer X posted a question on 28th June and Customer Y posted a question on 30th June. The question which was posted on 28th June will display first
The most recent questions will display on the product page in case “Date” is selected in the “Question sequence” field and “Descending Order” in the “Question sorting” field.
If an admin has allowed everyone to post the questions, then a customer whether registered or unregistered can post the question.
When a visitor/guest clicks on the “Raise your Query” button, a popup appears on the screen wherein he needs to enter his name, email id, and question.
Answer setting
Under “Answer“, admin can:
- Choose who can answer the questions.
- Decide whether the answer submitted by customers needs to be approved by him/seller or not.
- Allow/Disallow sellers to enable/disable/edit answers posted for their products.
- Specify maximum character limit for posting an answer.
- Enable/Disable report abuse option on product page.
- Decide the sequence in which answers will display on the product page.
Display answers on the basis of Likes
Admin can display answers with minimum likes first by selecting ‘Likes’ in the “Answer sequence” field and ‘Ascending Order’ in the “Answer sorting” field.
Admin can display answers with maximum likes first by selecting ‘Likes’ in the “Answer sequence” field and ‘Descending Order’ in the “Answer sorting” field.
Display answers date wise
Admin can display answers in the oldest to newest sequence by selecting ‘Date’ in the “Answer Sequence” field and ‘Ascending Order’ in the “Answer Sorting” field.
Suppose a customer X has posted an answer on 24th June and a customer Y answer on 27th June. The answer which was submitted on 24th June will be displayed first.
Admin can choose to display the newest answers first by selecting ‘Descending Order’ in the “Answer Sorting” field.
If a customer Y has posted an answer on 27th June and a customer X on 24th June, then the answer posted on 24th June will be displayed first.
Under “Questions and Answers”, if the customer finds the answer inappropriate, then he/she can report abuse the answer.
A customer can also choose to edit or delete his/her answer afterwards.
If an admin has allowed everyone to answer the questions, then a user whether registered or unregistered can post the answer.

Recaptcha settings
Admin can enable/disable the display of reCAPTCHA to the customers while posting questions and answers.
How to Create reCAPTCHA Credentials
To get the Credentials of reCaptcha, Admin has to create/signup to their accounts from the link: https://www.google.com/recaptcha
Admin needs to either create a new account or log in to its existing account to move ahead.
Once logged in, an admin needs to fill necessary information to get the reCAPTCHA credentials.
After filling in all the details, the credentials for reCAPTCHA will generate.
If an admin has enabled reCAPTCHA for questions and answers, then it will display to a customer while posting the questions and answers.
Mail setting
Admin can configure the email notifications to send to the customers, sellers, and him on certain events.
- An admin receives email when a user posts a question.
- An admin receives an email notification when a user answers a question.
- Admin receives an email when any user report abuse an answer.
- A customer receives an email whenever any other user answers question posted by him.
- Email notification is sent to a customer whenever his question gets posted.
- Customer receives an email notification whenever someone answers a question posted by him.
- Seller receives an email whenever someone raises a question regarding his product.
- Seller receives an email notification whenever someone answers a question regarding his product.
- A seller receives an email when someone report abuse an answer .
Front End Workflow
Posting A Question
When a customer clicks on the “Have a Question?” link, the page scrolls down where he can view the “ASK QUESTION” button. A customer can post a question by clicking on this button.
A customer needs to be logged in for posting the question. If a customer is not logged in and tries to post a question, then a popup will appear on the screen as shown below.
If an admin has disabled the automatic approval of questions from the backend, then a popup appears on the screen as shown below:
When the admin/seller approves the question, a customer receives an email notification regarding the approval of the question.
If the automatic approval of questions from the backend is active, then a popup will display to the customer as shown below:
When a customer posts a question, admin, seller & customer receive an email notification regarding the same.
Posting an Answer
If an admin has disabled the automatic approval of answers from the backend, then a popup appears on the screen as shown below:
If an admin has enabled the automatic approval of answers from the backend, then a popup appears on the screen as shown below:
Admin, customer, and seller receive an email notification when anyone answers a question.
A customer can view the questions & answers posted by the admin and the customer who has purchased the product.
A customer can view five questions on the product page. For viewing other posted questions a customer has to click on the “see all questions” link.
By clicking on “see all questions”, a customer redirects to the “Questions and Answers” page where he can perform all the functions related to questions and answers.
If there are more than 10 questions posted for a product, then a customer can view those questions by clicking on the “Load More Questions” link.
Verified Questions & Answers
The questions or answers posted by either admin or seller will be identified as verified questions or answers. Thus, they all will contain a unique green tickmark for identification.
Search Result Highlighting
Now, on searching any question from the search box, the searched term will be highlighted in the question for easy identification.
Product Questions and Answers – Seller’s End
A seller can view/add/edit/delete questions and answers for his products under the “Products” tab.
If enabled by admin from the backend, then the sellers can enable, disable or edit the questions and answers posted by the users for a product.
Under “Questions“, a seller can:
- View questions posted for a product.
- Enable/Disable the questions.
- See number of votes given to a particular question.
- Enable/Disable the questions.
- Add a new question for the product.
- Edit/Delete the questions.
- View user’s name who has posted the question.
- View number of answers submitted for a particular question.
Answers
Under Answers, a seller can:
- View list of answers posted for the question
- Add an answer for the question.
- View name of the user who has posted an answer.
- Edit/Delete the answer.
- View number of times the users have likes/dislike or report abuse an answer
- Enable/Disable the answer.
When a seller clicks on “Add New Answer”, a popup appears on the screen from where he can add an answer.
Product Questions and Answers – Admin’s End
Admin can view questions and answers posted for the seller products on “Question-Answer” tab.
When the admin clicks on the “Add Question” button, a popup appears on the screen where he can select the seller for whose products he wants to add a question.
After selecting a seller, the admin has to select the product for which he wants to add a question.
On clicking the “View” button, the admin can see all the questions and answers posted by the users.
When the admin clicks on the “ADD NEW QUESTION” button, a new pop-up appears on the screen wherein he can select the seller’s product and add a question for it.
Admin can view a list of answers submitted by users for the seller’s product.
