Guide for Magento 2 TV App

Magento 2 TV app provides a video viewing option on your TV with the help of a TV controller. Customer can use their home TV to use this app and view various videos added by the admin.

As it’s a TV app there is no need for a mobile application customers can directly use the app on the TV.

Additionally, you can add product videos to your Magento 2 store with the help of the Magneto 2 video player extension.

• The admin can add videos from their backend panel.
• The admin can also add channels from the admin end.
• Assign multiple videos to any single channel.
• It supports mass enable, disable, and delete channels.
• Mass enable, disable, and delete video options are available in the module.
• Uses Graphql API to get channel details and assigned video URLs.

The installation is quite simple just like the standard Magento 2 extensions.

#1 Download Module

Firstly, you need to log in to the Webkul Store, go to My Account>My Purchased Products section, verify, and then download and extract the contents of this zip folder on the system.

#2 Upload Folder

Once the module zip is extracted, follow path src>app and then copy the app folder into the Adobe Commerce Cloud root directory on the server as shown below:

Unzip the respective extension zip and create Webkul(vendor) and Magento2TVApp(module) name folder inside your Magento/app/code/ directory and then move all module files into the Magento root directory Magento2/app/code/Webkul/Magentotvapp/ folder.

Run the Following Commands via the terminal

php bin/magento setup:upgrade

php bin/magento setup:di:compile

php bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy

php bin/magento indexer:reindex

php bin/magento cache:flush

Once the module gets installed, now configure the module on the admin end by navigating to Store > Configuration > TV app.

The admin can enable or disable the module from here.

The admin can also navigate to the configuration settings via TV App side menu option and then Configuration settings.

In Magento 2 TV App, the admin can create multiple channels and assign videos to the channels by navigating through TV App->Channels.

Create New Channel

Click on the Add new channel to create a new channel for the TV app.

The admin will add the channel information here.

Title: Add the title for the channel.

Description: Add the channel description displayed on the TV App.

Status: Enable or disable the channel status from here.

Now click on the video assignment section to open the list of added videos on your store.

From here the admin can assign the videos to the respective channel. They can also delete and rest the videos from the channel.

The admin can check and add videos by navigating through TV APP->Videos.

Click on the add new video button to add the new videos.

The admin will add the following details to create the video on their store.

Title: Add the video title.

Description: Add the description related to the video.

Color: The admin can select the color for the background.

Thumbnail: Add a thumbnail image for your video.

Background Image: Add a background image to the video.

Video: The admin can select the video from their device in MOV or MP4 format.

Status: Enable or disable the video status.

Now click on the channel assignment option to assign the channel to the video.

The admin can assign the channel one by one or in bulk mode.

The admin can do homepage settings from here, which will reflect on the TV app. Navigate through TV App -> Home Page.

The admin needs to add the following settings.

Title: The admin will add the title for the homepage which will display on the TV app.

Short Description: Add a short description that illustrates your store or company.

Content: Add the content or long description on behalf of your website.

Number of Videos: Enter the number of videos that will be added to the TV app.

Image: Enter the homepage images for the background.

Select Homepage Category: Select the category that will be displayed on the homepage.

Once all the settings are completed from the admin end the customer can view the video directly on their TV.

When the customer opens the app home page will display first with channels, added videos, title, and descriptions.

Check Channel

Click on the channel icon to check the added channels and their respective video list.

Search Video

Customers can search for the video with the help of text keywords in the Magento 2 TV App.

When they enter the keyword all related videos will display on the TV.

Play Video

When customer click any video and play it then they can stream the video on their TV. They can also play, pause, fast forward and rewind the video.
