Odoo SMS OTP Authentication User Guide

Odoo SMS OTP Authentication Module is dependent on Odoo SMS Notification Module and Odoo Website OTP Authentication Module. Both the modules need to be installed first for Odoo SMS OTP Authentication to work properly.

Odoo OTP SMS Authentication helps in upgrading the Security of an Odoo Business Website. The Module can be used to provide an OTP login Authentication option for the customer SignUp process and SignIn page with various flexible configuration fields from the Backend. 

Odoo OTP SMS Authentication can also be helpful if a customer forgets the password and uses the OTP verification option instead while logging in to the Odoo Website.

FEATURES

1. Enable/Disable Option for OTP authentication for the SignUp page.
2. Enable/Disable Option for OTP authentication for Login Page.
3. They can configure the OTP Time Limit for verification.
4. The Module offers two types of OTP – Alphanumeric and Numeric.
5. OTP notification mode for email, SMS, or Both medium.
6. The Admin can configure the OTP attempt limit for customers.

INSTALLATION

1. After purchasing the module, a link will be provided to download a zip file.
2. Extract the file and a folder name ‘otp_sms_auth’ will be visible.
3. Copy the folder to the Odoo add-ons path.
4. Open the Odoo app, and click on settings. Then, Click on Developer Mode.
5. Then, open the Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List’.
6. At the search bar, remove all filters and search ‘otp_sms_auth’.
7. You will be able to see the module in the search results. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.

WORKFLOW

Configuration

1. After the Installation process of Odoo OTP SMS Authentication, configure the module for use.
2. To configure the module route to “Configuration >> Settings >> Website Webkul Addons”.

3. Under “Product Management” look for the module name “OTP Authentication” and make sure the checkbox is Checked for use.

4. There click to Configuration on the same.
5. A pop window named “Website OTP” Will appear for further configurations.
6. In the pop window provide the following configurations as needed:
   • Sign-in Authentication: When enabled, the OTP verification will be accessible on the Sign In page of the Odoo Website.
   • Sign-Up Authentication: When Enabled, the OTP verification will be accessible on the Sign Up page of the Odoo Website.
   • OTP Limit: To set the number of OTP sent for customer verification attempts.
   • OTP Time Limit: To set the OTP expiring Time.
   • OTP type: To set the type of OTP as “Text”
   • Type: To set the type of OTP i.e. “Alphanumeric” or “Numeric”
   • OTP Notification Mode: To Configure the medium for receiving OTP as E-mail, Phone Number, or Both.

Website View

1. The customer has to enter their registered email/phone number to log in.

2. There, they need to select “Log in with OTP” instead of a password to use OTP verification.

3. OTP verification at the website Sign Up Page. Where the OTP time of expiration is also visible which is Configured from the Odoo backend.

4. The Resend OTP option will appear if the time limit set for the OTP is exceeded and the OTP has expired, with which a customer can send the OTP for Verification again.
