Odoo Appointment SMS Notification Management

The module enables SMS notifications for fixed appointments to be sent to the customers’ registered mobile numbers via Odoo. The Odoo admin can configure the module to send SMS notifications to the customers for various events such as appointment confirmation message, reminder SMS, etc.

The admin can also configure the SMS template in the Odoo. It also allows you to set the time (in days or hours) before their appointment date to send the reminder SMS to the customers.

Please note: The module is dependent on both, Odoo SMS notification Module and Odoo Appointment management Module. Both of the aforementioned modules need to be installed first for Odoo Appointment SMS Notification to work properly.

• The admin can send SMS notifications about the booked appointment with the help of the module.
• The admin can set to send notification for successful placement of an appointment request in the Odoo.
• Also, if set to true a notification will be automatically sent to the customer for the change in the status of the appointment request.
• The admin can also choose to send reminder SMS notification before the appointment date. The admin can set the days before the appointment date to send a reminder SMS Notification to the customer.
• The records for all the SMS notifications and reminders sent to the customers is maintained in the Odoo backend.

1.) Once you purchase the App from Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the zip file of the module.

2.) Extract the file on your system after the download finishes. You will be able to see a folder named- ‘appointment_sms_notification’.

3.) Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.

4.) Now, open the Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.

5.) Then, open on Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List’.

6.) In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘appointment_sms_notification’.

7.) You will be able to see the module in the search result. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.

Creating Appointment Notification Templates

1.) In Odoo, go to SMS >> Templates. Here you can see the existing SMS template and create new as per the requirement. Click on create.

2.) Enter the name of the appointment template such as ‘Appointment SMS Notification Reminder to Customer’.

3.) Now, under Conditions select ‘Appointment’. Then, choose Applies To also as an ‘Appointment’.

4.) Under the ‘Content’ tab, you can set the structure of the SMS.

5.) If you tick on the checkbox next to auto-delete, the SMS record would be automatically deleted from Odoo after its status changes to Delivered. Click Save.

6.) You can create as many templates as required in the Odoo.

Settings SMS templates to Appointment Events/Conditions

7.) In the Odoo, navigate through Appointment >> Configuration >> settings.

8.) Here, you can set the designed template to the respective event to send the appropriate template when an event occurs.

9.) You can SMS notifications for three events:

(i) successful scheduling of an appointment.
(ii) Any changes to the status of appointment in Odoo
(iii) SMS reminder before the appointment date.

10.) Select the desired template for each of the above-mentioned conditions

11.) Moving on, you can also set the days/hours before the appointment date to send the SMS reminder notification to the customer.

12.) Go to Appointment >> All appointments. Click on any scheduled to open it.

13.) Here, under ‘Other Info’ tab, tick the checkbox next to ‘Enable to send Reminder via SMS’.

14.) Then choose whether to send the notification days or hours before the time of scheduled appointment. Click Save.

15.) Now an SMS notification will be sent to the customer as his appointment date approaches.

16.) The history of all the sent SMS and their delivery status is available in the SMS menu.
