JS SDK Token: Create Custom App on Shopify

In order to create the JS SDK Token, firstly you need to create a Custom App from store backend and then, make your Products & Collections available on that Custom app for which you want to provide access to your store

While creating the Custom App, You need to enable permissions that your custom app will access. You need to install the app on your store. Once You click on the Install button, You will be ended up generating the API Credentials. And from there, You will get the Storefront access token that will be needed to access your storefront data.

Creating a custom app is super easy. You just need to Navigate to Apps > Develop Apps > Create an App.

Once you click on Create an App, pop up will come where you need to name the custom app. You name it and then click on Create App.

Now, Prior to the generation of the JS SDK Token, You need to add certain permissions for the data that your custom app will access. Go to the Configuration > Storefront API integration > configure section and enable those actions which are necessary to work for your custom app.

Once done you need to install the app in order to get the Access Token.

Important Note:- It is mandatory to access permission to the entities to make them work for the app. Enable the permissions required for the app.

Enable these permission for Customers and Products and then click on Save.

Once you save the application, you need to install the app. After installation it will redirect you to the API credentials page. Copy the Storefront API access token.

In order to check the products availability on created custom app, Navigate to Products > Select all products > More Actions > Add available channels > Tick the just created custom app if its untick > Make products available

This is the complete process to generate an access token. You can now access all of your store’s data using the required token.
