Guide for OpenCart AI Image Background Remover

OpenCart AI Image Background Remover module allows the admin to quickly remove the background of the image without manually editing the image.

The CNN Models used in the OpenCart AI Image Background Remover will precisely detect and remove the background even with complex images.

With this module, the admin will focus on the other tasks while the AI handles the image processing.

Removing the background from the product images, makes the product look more professional and consistent.

Note: Server should not be shared-hosted.

• Admin can remove image background.
• The admin can remove the image background of an existing product.
• Admin can also remove any image background from the store backend.
• CNN Models are used to remove the Image background
• Admin can also remove category and product image backgrounds in bulk.
• It supports multiple image formats like jpeg, jpg, png, & webp.

The following minimum system requirements are needed for this extension,

• Python Version – 3.10
• RAM (4 GB)
• Space (16 GB)
• Server key and cert files (for Flask API)
• Docker
• Two ports (5000 and 8000)
• API Key (If you would like to use Hosted Platforms Gemini,OpenAI etc. for creating embeddings) – Optional

To install AI module, we need SSH access. You can also check the AI Models Server Installation Guide.

First, extract the downloaded zip file. After that, open the correct Opencart Version Folder. According to the Opencart Version installed in your system.

Then, upload the admin folder to the Opencart root directory.

Now navigate through Extensions->Installer and tap on the Upload button to upload the zip file of the plugin which you will find in ocmod folder.

Now, navigate through Extension -> Modifications. Select the module and tap on the refresh button in the top right-hand section.

Now in the Admin panel go to System -> Users -> User Group then edit ‘Administrator’ then select all for both ‘Access and Modify‘ Permission then Save it.

After that under Extension ->Extension -> Modules install the Background removal module like this.

To do the initial configuration settings tap on the edit button in the front of AI Image Background Remover as per the snapshot below.

After clicking on the edit button.

The admin can Enable/Disable the module.

To remove the product background, the admin will tap on the catalog in the navigation bar.

Then click on products.

This opens the product list page at the store backend.

Then, Click on the edit product button.

After that move to the image section.

Then click on the product image, and the background remover icon will appear.

By tapping on it, the background will be removed successfully.

After that admin will save the product.

The store admin can also remove any image background from the store backend.

By tapping on erase icon admin can remove the images.

Bulk Image Background remover

Admin can also remove the image background in bulk.

For this admin will select multiple products.

Then, the admin will tap on the remove background Icon.

Now the background of the selective image will be removed.

After removing the product at the store backend, users can see them on the storefront.

On the product category page, the product is visible without background images.

same on the product page.
