Multivendor Marketplace for Shopify<\/a>: Handling & Transaction Charges<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In many marketplace scenarios, the admin has to bear the handling and transaction charges applied to each transaction or transfer. As a result, these charges directly impact overall profitability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To address this, we have introduced a feature in the app that allows these charges to be added to the product price during product creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, let\u2019s understand the complete workflow in detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workflow of the Multivendor Marketplace: Handling & Transaction Charges<\/h3><\/div>

<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Before using this feature, make sure that the Sales Price option is enabled from the Product Configuration settings. Otherwise, the handling and transaction charges will not reflect properly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To enable it, follow the steps below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. First, go to Configuration<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Then, click on Product Configuration<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. After that, enable the \u201cDisplay Sales Price on Product\u201d<\/strong> option.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Finally, click Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    1. Handling Charges<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Handling charges allow the admin to add an additional fixed cost to the product price. As a result,<\/strong> this cost is automatically included in the final price displayed to the customer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 1: Enable Handling Charges<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To activate this feature, follow the steps below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    First, navigate to Configuration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Then, open Product Configuration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    After that, enable the \u201cHandling Charges\u201d<\/strong> checkbox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Finally, click Save Changes<\/strong> to apply the settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 2: Set Handling Charge on Product<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Once the feature is enabled, you can configure the handling charge for individual products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To do so, follow the steps below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Finally, save the product to apply the changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    First, go to the Product Edit Page<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Then, enter the required Handling Charge<\/strong> value for the respective product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How Handling Charge Works<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The handling charge is added to the product\u2019s base price. As a result, the final price increases accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Moreover, this charge is applied per quantity. Therefore, if a customer purchases multiple units of the same product, the handling charge will be multiplied based on the ordered quantity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Example:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Product Price = $100
    Handling Charge = $10
    Orderd Quantity = 3<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Final calculation:<\/strong>
    ($100 + $10) \u00d7 3 = $330<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. Transaction Charges<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Transaction charges represent the payment processing fee applied to marketplace orders. In other words, this fee reflects the cost associated with processing payments through a gateway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Therefore, the configured transaction charge will be added to the product\u2019s base price, depending on the selected settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 1: Enable Transaction Charge<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Before configuring the transaction settings, you must first enable the transaction charge option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To do so, follow the steps below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Finally, save the changes to activate the feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    First, go to Configuration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Then, open Product Configuration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    After that, enable the \u201cTransaction Charge\u201d<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 2: Configure Transaction Charge Settings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    > Transaction Charges to be Paid By<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Under this setting, you can choose how the transaction fee should be determined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Normal<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you select Normal<\/strong>, the transaction charge will be calculated based on the percentage and\/or fixed values entered manually in the configuration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In other words, the admin has full control over defining the charge structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Stripe Fees<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    On the other hand, if you select Stripe Fees<\/strong>, the system will follow Stripe\u2019s default payment processing structure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Therefore, the transaction charge will be calculated according to Stripe\u2019s predefined fee model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    > Transaction Charge Bear By<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This setting determines who will bear the transaction fee applied to the order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Option: Admin<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    If the Admin<\/strong> option is selected, the marketplace owner will bear the transaction charges instead of the seller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
