{"id":80958,"date":"2017-04-20T15:04:54","date_gmt":"2017-04-20T15:04:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webkul.com\/blog\/?p=80958"},"modified":"2017-05-20T10:06:48","modified_gmt":"2017-05-20T10:06:48","slug":"magento-pos-cart-hold-feature","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webkul.com\/blog\/magento-pos-cart-hold-feature\/","title":{"rendered":"Magento POS(Point Of Sale) &#8211; Cart on hold Feature"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Using <strong>Cart On Hold<\/strong> feature the<strong> POS user<\/strong> can put the<strong> current order on hold<\/strong> to <strong>assist other customers<\/strong> with their purchases.<\/p>\n<p>Consider that at the <strong>physical store<\/strong> the\u00a0<strong>POS User<\/strong>(person handling the Magento POS system) was adding products for a customer and the customer suddenly found that he was low on cash or maybe he did not want to go for the billing at that very moment and wants to check other products etc. What then? How to save his cart so that it can be resumed again?<\/p>\n<p>To help with this scenario, the <strong>Magento POS system<\/strong> allows the POS User\u00a0to put the<strong> current Cart<\/strong> On Hold so that the POS User can <strong>continue assisting<\/strong>\u00a0the other<strong> customers<\/strong> while putting the <strong>previous\u00a0customer&#8217;s<\/strong> cart-on hold.\u00a0The <strong>POS User<\/strong> can again <strong>resume assisting<\/strong> the customer <strong>whose <\/strong>cart(with products) was <strong>put on hold<\/strong>. The POS User will resume the cart on\u00a0hold for the checkout process very easily.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Let&#8217;s see how this works with some snapshots and workflow:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The POS user will be helping the customer to get the products into the cart for making the payment as shown below in the snapshot.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cdnblog.webkul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Cart-On-Hold.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdnblog.webkul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Cart-On-Hold.png\" alt=\"Magento POS(Point Of Sale) - Cart on hold \" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now the <strong>POS User<\/strong> will click on the <strong>PUT CART ON HOLD<\/strong> button to put the current cart-on hold which brings up a confirmation dialog box. Here the POS User will click the &#8220;<strong>OK<\/strong>&#8221; button to put the current cart-on hold.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cdnblog.webkul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Confirmation-Box-Car-O-Hold.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdnblog.webkul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Confirmation-Box-Car-O-Hold.png\" alt=\"Cart on hold Feature\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This will empty the cart and the POS User can see the current cart being added to hold as per the snapshot below.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/cdnblog.webkul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Cart-Empty.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdnblog.webkul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Cart-Empty.png\" alt=\"Cart on hold Feature\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The POS User can now start assisting the other customers in the queue. To <strong>get back<\/strong> to the cart-on<strong> hold<\/strong>, after completing an order, the POS User will click on the &#8220;<b>Menu<\/b>&#8221; button as shown below in the snapshot.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/cdnblog.webkul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Menu-Option.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdnblog.webkul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Menu-Option.png\" alt=\"Menu-Option-Cart-On-Hold\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Clicking the &#8220;<strong>Menu<\/strong>&#8221; option will bring up a side menu from the left having the options &#8211; <strong>Home<\/strong>, <strong>Orders<\/strong>, <strong>Orders On Hold<\/strong>, <strong>Offline Orders<\/strong> , and the <strong>Cash Drawer<\/strong>. Here the agent will click the option&#8221;<strong>Orders On Hold<\/strong>&#8221; to check the orders on hold.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/cdnblog.webkul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Orders-On-Hold-Menu-Option.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdnblog.webkul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Orders-On-Hold-Menu-Option.png\" alt=\"Orders-On-Hold-Menu-Option\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Clicking the menu option &#8220;<strong>Orders On Hold<\/strong>&#8221; will bring up the page to check the orders on hold as shown below in the snapshot.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/cdnblog.webkul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Orders-On-Hold.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdnblog.webkul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Orders-On-Hold.png\" alt=\"Orders-On-Hold\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here the agent can easily switch between orders on hold.
