Re-keying that by hand does not scale \u2014 and every manual step is another chance for the two catalogs to drift apart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Pimcore Shopify Connector<\/strong>&nbsp;closes that gap. It syncs your catalog&nbsp;<strong>both directions<\/strong>&nbsp;between Pimcore 12 and a Shopify store over the&nbsp;<strong>Shopify Admin GraphQL API<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 no CSV files, no middleware. Every job is queued through Symfony Messenger \u2014 without a consumer, jobs stay pending forever. The connector ships a supervisord config for it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your&nbsp;<strong>languages<\/strong>&nbsp;configured in Pimcore (<em>Settings \u2192 System Settings \u2192 Localization &amp; Internationalization<\/em>) before you connect the store \u2014 you will map Shopify locales onto them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once installed, a&nbsp;<strong>Shopify Connector<\/strong>&nbsp;section appears in the Studio left nav with&nbsp;<strong>Credentials<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Mappings<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Import Job<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Export Job<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Metafield Definitions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1 \u2014 Connect Your Shopify Store<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open&nbsp;<strong>Shopify Connector \u2192 Credentials<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Add Credential<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fill in the form:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Shop Domain<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 e.g.&nbsp;<code>your-store.myshopify.com<\/code><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Access Token<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 your&nbsp;<code>shpat_...<\/code>&nbsp;Admin API token<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>API Version<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 pick from the list (newest first)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Validate<\/strong>. This calls Shopify and confirms the token works \u2014 you will see&nbsp;<strong>\u201cConnected to &lt;your shop name&gt;\u201d<\/strong>. If a scope is missing, a&nbsp;<strong>\u201cSome scopes are missing\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;warning tells you which.&nbsp;<strong>Save stays disabled until Validate succeeds<\/strong>, so a broken credential can never be stored.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Now the sync settings appear \u2014&nbsp;<strong>\u201cSelect locales and channels to sync\u201d<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Locales<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 which Shopify locales to sync (the primary one is marked&nbsp;<em>(primary)<\/em>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Channels<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 which Shopify sales channels (publications) products get published to<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Locations<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 which locations inventory is written to<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Locale mapping (Shopify locale to Pimcore language)<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 map each Shopify locale onto a Pimcore language. The primary locale&nbsp;<strong>must<\/strong>&nbsp;be mapped or the form refuses to save.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tick&nbsp;<strong>Active (only one credential may be active)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Save<\/strong>. You get&nbsp;<strong>\u201cSaved successfully\u201d<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>access token is write-only over the API<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 it is never sent back to the browser, and the list only shows whether a token is&nbsp;<strong>Set<\/strong>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<strong>Missing<\/strong>. When editing a credential later, leave the token blank to keep the current one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Good to know:<\/strong>&nbsp;you can store several stores here, but&nbsp;<strong>only one is Active at a time<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 saving one as active automatically deactivates the others, and every job runs against the Active store. Each store keeps its own private id map, so switching between stores never mixes catalogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/unopim.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-23-1024x498.png\" alt=\"image-23\" class=\"wp-image-8125\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/unopim.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-24-1024x498.png\" alt=\"image-24\" class=\"wp-image-8126\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2 \u2014 Map Shopify Entities to Your Pimcore Classes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The connector ships default DataObject classes \u2014&nbsp;<code>WkProduct<\/code>&nbsp;(variant-enabled),&nbsp;<code>WkCategory<\/code>,&nbsp;<code>WkAttribute<\/code>,&nbsp;<code>WkAttributeOption<\/code>,&nbsp;<code>WkFamily<\/code>,&nbsp;<code>WkChannel<\/code>&nbsp;\u2014 but it holds&nbsp;<strong>no hard reference to any of them<\/strong>. They are defaults, not requirements: the&nbsp;<strong>Mappings<\/strong>&nbsp;screen is where you point the connector at&nbsp;<em>your<\/em>&nbsp;data model. Mapping has two parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2a. Bind a Pimcore class to each entity<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open&nbsp;<strong>Shopify Connector \u2192 Mappings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the&nbsp;<strong>Object Mapping<\/strong>&nbsp;tab:&nbsp;<em>\u201cChoose the Pimcore class for each Shopify entity, and the field used as the unique code (match key).\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For each entity \u2014&nbsp;<strong>Category<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Product<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 pick the&nbsp;<strong>Pimcore class<\/strong>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<strong>Match key (code)<\/strong>&nbsp;field. The match key is what records are matched on (typically the Shopify handle), so it is what keeps re-runs from duplicating.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Save object mapping<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/unopim.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-25-1024x498.png\" alt=\"image-25\" class=\"wp-image-8131\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2b. Map the fields<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Switch to the&nbsp;<strong>Category<\/strong>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<strong>Product<\/strong>&nbsp;tab. (Until you have saved an object mapping, the tab just tells you:&nbsp;<em>\u201cSelect and save a Pimcore class for this entity in the Object Mapping tab first.\u201d<\/em>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Each row is a&nbsp;<strong>Shopify field<\/strong>&nbsp;on the left and a&nbsp;<strong>Pimcore field<\/strong>&nbsp;dropdown on the right. Unmapped rows read&nbsp;<strong>\u201cNot mapped\u201d<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the&nbsp;<strong>Product<\/strong>&nbsp;tab there is also a&nbsp;<strong>Default value<\/strong>&nbsp;column \u2014 a fixed value used when the field isn\u2019t mapped.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Below that, map your images under&nbsp;<strong>Media mappings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Save field mapping<\/strong>. Repeat for the other entity.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Field mapping is validated before any export runs, so a broken map fails loudly and early instead of writing half a catalog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/unopim.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-26-1024x498.png\" alt=\"image-26\" class=\"wp-image-8132\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3 \u2014 Importing from Shopify<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All imports live on one screen:&nbsp;<strong>Shopify Connector \u2192 Import Job<\/strong>. You pick a&nbsp;<strong>Job type<\/strong>, click the run button, and the job starts in the background \u2014 no confirmation dialog, no store picker (it always uses the Active credential).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Import is&nbsp;<strong>read-only on Shopify<\/strong>&nbsp;and safe to repeat: re-running reuses existing objects via the id map, so it never duplicates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Run the four jobs in this order, because products depend on the other three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3a. Import Categories (Shopify Collections)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open&nbsp;<strong>Import Job<\/strong>, set&nbsp;<strong>Job type<\/strong>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<strong>Categories<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Import Categories<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3b. Import Attributes (Product Options)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Set&nbsp;<strong>Job type<\/strong>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<strong>Attributes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Import Attributes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Shopify has no standalone \u201cattributes\u201d entity, so the connector derives them by scanning your products: every product option name (Size, Colour) becomes a&nbsp;<code>WkAttribute<\/code>, and every option value (Small, Red) becomes a&nbsp;<code>WkAttributeOption<\/code>. Synthetic options such as&nbsp;<em>Title \/ Default Title<\/em>&nbsp;on simple products are skipped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3c. Import Metafields (Definitions)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Set&nbsp;<strong>Job type<\/strong>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<strong>Metafields<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Import Metafields<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>This imports Shopify\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>metafield definitions<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 for both product and variant owners \u2014 and turns them into a real, typed,&nbsp;<strong>localized Pimcore Classification Store<\/strong>. Your Shopify custom data stops being a black box and becomes editable structure in Pimcore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3d. Import Products<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Set&nbsp;<strong>Job type<\/strong>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<strong>Products<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pick a&nbsp;<strong>Channel<\/strong>&nbsp;and a&nbsp;<strong>Currency<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 this is the pricing slot Shopify\u2019s price and cost get written into.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Import Products<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Each product pulls in its core and localized fields, images (downloaded into Pimcore Assets, de-duplicated), metafield values, inventory (quantity, tracked flag, unit cost, weight), price\/cost into the chosen channel+currency, and its collections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Variants become real Pimcore variants<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 one parent object plus a native variant child per Shopify variant. It is a true mirror: variants deleted on Shopify are pruned in Pimcore, and clearing a product\u2019s media on Shopify clears it in Pimcore too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the run, imported objects are re-indexed so they show up immediately in Studio search.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/unopim.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-27-1024x497.png\" alt=\"image-27\" class=\"wp-image-8133\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/unopim.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-28-1024x497.png\" alt=\"image-28\" class=\"wp-image-8134\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 4 \u2014 Managing Metafield Definitions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Shopify Connector \u2192 Metafield Definitions<\/strong>&nbsp;lists everything Import Job \u2192 Metafields brought in, with&nbsp;<strong>Owner<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Namespace.Key<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Name<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Shopify Type<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Pimcore Type<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>List?<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Pinned<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Edit<\/strong>&nbsp;a definition to change its&nbsp;<strong>Name<\/strong>&nbsp;\/&nbsp;<strong>Description<\/strong>, or flip&nbsp;<strong>Pin to product editor<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 pinned definitions show by default on the product page, unpinned ones hide under \u201cShow all\u201d. Shopify\u2019s own fields stay read-only.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Add Metafield Definition<\/strong>&nbsp;to create a brand-new one in Pimcore (Owner, Namespace, Key, Name, Shopify Type, Description). It exists in Pimcore straight away; push it to Shopify with&nbsp;<strong>Export Job \u2192 Metafield Definitions<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Delete<\/strong>&nbsp;removes the definition and its product field in Pimcore only \u2014 Shopify is never touched. If the field already holds values, you get a second confirmation before anything is destroyed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/unopim.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-29-1024x497.png\" alt=\"image-29\" class=\"wp-image-8135\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/unopim.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-30-1024x497.png\" alt=\"image-30\" class=\"wp-image-8136\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 5 \u2014 Exporting to Shopify (Push Pimcore Out)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All exports live on&nbsp;<strong>Shopify Connector \u2192 Export Job<\/strong>. Same pattern: pick a&nbsp;<strong>Job type<\/strong>, click the run button. The field mapping is validated first, so a bad map stops the job before it writes anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5a. Export Collections<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open&nbsp;<strong>Export Job<\/strong>, set&nbsp;<strong>Job type<\/strong>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<strong>Collections<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Export Collections<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Categories are created or updated on Shopify, translations included.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5b. Export Metafield Definitions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Set&nbsp;<strong>Job type<\/strong>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<strong>Metafield Definitions<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Export Metafield Definitions<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Definitions you created in Pimcore are pushed to Shopify. If a definition already exists there, the connector adopts it and updates instead of erroring out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5c. Export Products<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Set&nbsp;<strong>Job type<\/strong>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<strong>Products<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pick a&nbsp;<strong>Channel<\/strong>&nbsp;and a&nbsp;<strong>Currency<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 both are required; the run button stays disabled with the tooltip&nbsp;<strong>\u201cSelect a channel and currency first\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;until you do. This is the price the export sends.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optionally narrow the run: the filter box reads&nbsp;<em>\u201cFilter by product handle or SKU \u2014 comma or newline separated. Leave empty to export all products.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Export Products<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Each product is written to Shopify as&nbsp;<strong>one declarative operation<\/strong>&nbsp;carrying its fields, options, variants, metafields, images and collections at once. Because it is declarative, removing a category in Pimcore removes the product from that collection on Shopify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Images are uploaded, not linked.<\/strong>&nbsp;Shopify cannot fetch a private Pimcore URL, so the connector reads the asset bytes and pushes them through a staged upload.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Inventory<\/strong>&nbsp;is written to your selected location for variants that track stock.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Publishing<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 the product is published to the sales channels you selected on the credential.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Translations<\/strong>&nbsp;are registered for every mapped non-primary locale \u2014 titles, descriptions, SEO fields, option names and values, metafield values.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It never duplicates.<\/strong>&nbsp;The connector first looks up the local\u2194Shopify id map; if there is no link it adopts the existing product by handle, or creates it.
