In this article, We’ll explore where to find Stripe keys and Account ID, how to securely store your keys, and common pitfalls to avoid during setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

API keys from Stripe<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

To get your API keys, log in to your Stripe account or create one if you haven\u2019t already.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visit Stripe dashboard<\/a> and enter your login credentials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stripe Dashboard<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Now, from the Stripe dashboard, click the toggle button for View test data<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use test credentials if you’re testing the module, or live credentials if setting it up for a live website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, set Sandbox Mode<\/strong> to Yes<\/strong> for Testing Mode or No<\/strong> for Production Mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sandbox API credentials from Stripe <\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Now, the admin can go to Developers > API Keys and view the Test API credentials, as shown in the image below \u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The admin can enter the API Publishable Key and API Secret Key in the admin configuration to set up the module.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Production API credentials from Stripe \u2013<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The admin can also access the API credentials for production mode. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To do this, they need to click the “Viewing test data” toggle button to turn off test mode and view the API keys for the live environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, the admin can set the Debug mode to Production to use the API keys for the live site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Webhooks In Stripe Payment Gateway<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In web development, a webhook lets you change how a web page or app works by using custom callbacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Webhooks are HTTP callbacks that users set up, and they get triggered by certain events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the chosen event takes place on the website, the webhook catches it and gathers the data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The admin can add a webhook in the Stripe Dashboard by navigating to Developers > Webhooks and clicking ‘Add Endpoint’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The admin can also check the added webhooks from the Stripe dashboard, as shown in the image below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The admin needs to enter the Stripe Account ID to link the store with the correct Stripe account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can find the Stripe Account ID in your Stripe Dashboard<\/strong> under Settings > Account details<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each connected account will also have its own unique Account ID that should be used when managing transfers or payments for that account. Shown in the image below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
