The new default value for automatic redirects<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The new default does not change existing records in the&nbsp;<code>catalog_url_rewrite_product_category<\/code>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<code>url_rewrite<\/code>&nbsp;database tables when upgrading to 2.4.6, but no new rewrites are added. You can enable the&nbsp;<strong>Generate &#8220;category\/product&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/webkul.com\/blog\/magento2-programmatically-create-custom-url-rewrites\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">URL Rewrites<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;setting if you want to continue using it after upgrading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To improve performance, the default value for\u00a0<code>generate_category_product_rewrites<\/code>\u00a0in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/magento\/magento2\/blob\/2.4-develop\/app\/code\/Magento\/CatalogUrlRewrite\/etc\/config.xml#L12\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><code>app\/code\/Magento\/CatalogURLRewrite\/etc\/config.xml<\/code><\/a>\u00a0the file was changed from\u00a0<code>1<\/code>\u00a0to\u00a0<code>0<\/code>, also this change disables\u00a0automatic category\/product URL rewrites, but only if you have not changed the previous default setting prior to upgrading to 2.4.6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Security enhancements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This release includes eight security fixes and platform security improvements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>IP allow listing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two-Factor Authentication<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use of a VPN<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use of a unique location rather than&nbsp;<code>\/admin<\/code><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good password hygiene<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New system configuration for requiring email confirmation when an admin user changes their email. Platform enhancements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adobe Commerce 2.4.6 introduces support for PHP 8.2. PHP 8.1 remains fully supported. You cannot run Adobe Commerce 2.4.6 on PHP 7.4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\">Adobe Commerce 2.4.6 now supports:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Composer 2.2.x. In the next releases, Composer 1. x  will remove.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Redis 7.0.x. Although compatibility with Redis 6.2 remains, we recommend deploying this release with Redis 7.0.x. In 2024 Redis 6.2 will expect to reach the end of its life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Elasticsearch 8. x.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MariaDB 10.6 (LTS version). This release is still compatible with MariaDB 10.4, but we recommend upgrading to MariaDB 10.6.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>11.
