It has also an antenna that allows tags to send and receive radio waves. There are two primary tags Active and Passive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Active Tag<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>An active tag has built-in batteries or power sources, allowing them to transmit data over long distances.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>Passive Tag<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Passive tags have no inbuilt battery which is why it is useful for a shorter distance. It is also less expensive in comparison to an active tag.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wk-index-wrap\"><div class=\"block-wrap\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading index-title\"><\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The antenna is the device that emits the radio waves and receives the reflected signals from the tags. The reader is not only read data from tags but also uses it to write data into the RFID tag.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Low Frequency<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>It ranges from 1- 10 centimeters, and its frequency is 125-134khz. It is also used for shorter distances.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>High Frequency<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The range of this tag is from 10 centimeters to 1 meter. This range is used in security access control. It also works on 13.56 Mhz frequency.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>Ultra High Frequency:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The range of the reader is up to 5-6 meters and it works on 865- 960 Mhz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wk-index-wrap\"><div class=\"block-wrap\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading index-title\"><\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Embracing the RFID technology into the workplace is used to track employee location.
