Management for Al-Jarida<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Webkul customized its Odoo Subscription Management module into a newspaper subscription system on Odoo v18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The build follows a subscription across its whole life, from the first order through renewal, freezing and expiry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Odoo already handled the recurring billing out of the box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/webkul.com\/odoo-customization-services\/\">Odoo customization<\/a> went into the dispatch and operations layer the newsroom runs each morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Print and Digital Subscriptions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Both sit in the same system, but they reach the reader by different routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Print records carry a full delivery address, a copy count and a distribution route code and name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each one also names the distributor and the supervisor who answer for that route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Digital copies go out over WhatsApp as a PDF, which suits readers outside the print routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Terms run from one month to two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each one carries its own start date, end date and sits at Active, Frozen or Expired, so staff know whether the paper goes out tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Does the Freeze Workflow Extend a Subscription?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A freeze pauses delivery for a set period, then pushes the end date back to match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The user records a freeze start date, a freeze end date and a reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Odoo works out the rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The extended end date is the original end date plus the total frozen days, so nobody loses paid-for copies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the freeze period ends the subscription resumes and the paper goes out again on the same route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because Odoo does the maths, the renewal date and the dispatch list agree without a spreadsheet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How the Dispatch Team Tracks Changes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Dispatch staff need to see which records changed since the last print run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A change flag marks any record that was edited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Address changes and freeze or unfreeze events are tracked against it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A set back trigger reverses one of those changes, and only named users hold the right to use it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Staff can raise an activity by hand and assign it to a colleague when a case needs a follow-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A notes field carries the remarks that fit no other field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Excel Reports for Subscriptions and Distribution<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Webkul added eight XLSX reports so the team can answer questions without opening records one by one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They cover distribution updates, subscription revenue and expired terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Others list frozen and unfrozen readers, print job quantity, and subscribers by route and by distributor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The print job quantity report matters most before a print run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It states how many copies the press has to produce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports run on daily, weekly, monthly and yearly views, with date filters where a range is needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Results of Odoo Subscription Management for
