    ODOO : Return Merchandise Authorization

    INTRODUCTION

    Product returns are believed to be a headache for both company and customer. But with the help of attractive return policies companies can boost customer loyalty and increase their profits. So this time we are adding another gem to our store that is Odoo Return merchandise authorization that will help you to manage the return of a product through replace, refund or repair.

    Return merchandise authorization module helps you to manage with the returns of a product through replace, refund or repair. Using this module, your customers can put return/refund request on their own. The customer gets an option to attach the file as a proof, it can be an image or a video form. It has such features that customers can easily check their status update and can also communicate with the representative directly by sending messages.

    INSTALLATION

    After buying this app from our Webkul store you will get the link for downloading the zip file. Simply download it and extract then you will see the rma folder, now you will have to copy this app folder inside your Odoo addons path.

    Now simply follow these steps:
    1. Go to settings menu and click on Activate the Developer mode.
    2. Now go to apps menu and Click on ‘Update Modules List’.
    3. Remove the app’s filter and search for the rma key.
    4. Now you will see the module then simply install it.

    After installing you will be able to handle different functionality as mentioned in module’s workflow.

    How customer will return product

    Registered customers get the option to return merchandise. A registered user under my account will find sales order, select the particular sales order in which you want to make the return of a merchandise. Return option will appear after the order delivery, as you open the order detail there you will find the return option for every product separately.

    The customer can communicate and edit the number of units to return.

    For Return, customers can communicate or send messages to know the status update or for any kind of information. For status, you can also refer to the stages shown on the right-hand side of the return page. Initially, it will be a new stage as it proceeds will end at resolving stage after all the verification and negotiation. The customer can also attach the file as proof of return.

    How Admin will use this module

    RMA can be created from the backend as well and admin has the authorization to update return/refund status and can also communicate with the customer regarding the same. This module gives you an option to send a message to the customers and here you can also ask them to attach the file as a proof of the cause of the return/refund.

    As an RMA stage changes the status aligned with it changes automatically.

    Once the final stage of the agreement is reached the option of receive product will appear.

    After clicking on Recieve product button a pop-up wizard will appear with all the details of the return. Admin needs to verify the details and click on return.

    After clicking on return Refund invoice option will appear. Click to refund the invoice.

    Now mention appropriate reason and create a refund.

    Stages can be created with the corresponding status. You can also create stages according to the corresponding status. There can be any number of stages for a particular corresponding status. This status or stages can be changed according to the flow or as the return process proceeds and simultaneously it will get updated on the customers’ end also.

    Admin can create a number of valid reasons for RMA return and publish them on the website.

    A customer can directly chat with the admin.
