Prestashop Product Wise Payment {User-Guide}

Prestashop Product Wise Payment: Ever felt the need to restrict some payment methods on any or all of your products available in your Prestashop store?

Well, if yes is your answer, Prestashop Product Wise Payment module is exactly what you need. This module allows the admin to select the products, categories, groups, on which he wants to assign the restricted payment methods.

Features of Prestashop Product Wise Payment

• This module is multi-shop compatible.
• Restrict payment methods for specific products, categories, manufacturers, and suppliers.
• Restrict payment methods based on cart range and customer groups.
• Assign multiple payment methods that you want to restrict to multiple products, categories, manufacturers, and suppliers at once.
• View a list of payment methods restricted for product/category/manufacturer/supplier.
• Enable, disable, or delete the restricted payment methods.
• Option to change the already assigned payment method and assign a new one.
• View a list of payment methods restricted for customer groups.
• Customers can view payment methods available for the product on the product page.
• Allow all payment methods or disallow payment, in case multiple products are added to the cart, which does not have any common payment method available among them.
• Prestashop Product Wise Payment module is MultiShop compatible.

How to Install Prestashop Product Wise Payment

• Firstly, go to the module manager in the back office and click on ‘upload a module’.
• After that, drag and drop the module file or select the file from the system.
• In this way, the module installation will be successful.

After the installation of the module, admin needs to configure it. The module configuration has two sections:

1. Admin End Configuration
2. Front End Configuration

Admin End Configuration

Default Number of Products in List

While assigning payment methods to the products, a list of Prestashop store products displays on the screen. This option lets the admin decide the number of products to display in the list.

No. of Products show on View more

This option enables admin to set the number of products to display on clicking the ‘View more’ button.

Front End Configuration

From here admin can select the payment option he wants to display on the payment page. Also, the admin can set the priority of restriction in case the same payment method is assign to a product that belongs to a category, manufacturer, and supplier.

Now when following modes are set in the configuration, let’s see the behavior of payment methods on the payment page.

Default: When the mode is set as default.

Case 1: When you have 2 products in the cart and both are restrict by different payment method. In this case, since we do not have any common method available. Therefore, there will be no payment method available for this order.

Case 2: When you have 2 products in the cart and both are restrict by the same payment methods. Well, in this case, all the other payment methods will be available.

Case 3: When you have 2 products in the cart and one product is restricted by some payment gateway and the other product has no restriction (i.e. all payment methods are available). Then, the common payment method will be available to the buyer.

Case 4: When you have 2 products in the cart and no restrictions have been applied to both the two products, then all the payment methods will be available for the buyer on the checkout page.

All: If the mode is set as All.

Case 1: When you have 2 products in the cart and both are restrict by different payment methods. In this case, all the payment methods will be available to the buyer.

Case 2: When you have 2 products in the cart and both are restrict by the same payment methods. Well, in this case, all the other payment methods will be available.

Case 3: When you have 2 products in the cart and one product is restrict by some payment gateway and the other product has no restriction. In this situation, all the payment methods will be available to the buyer.

Case 4: When you have 2 products in the cart and no restrictions have been applied to both two products, then all the payment methods will be available for the buyer on the checkout page.

Post-installation, two new tabs “Product Wise Payment” and “Group Wise Payment” get available in the back office. From here, admin can assign payment methods that he wants to restrict for certain products and groups.

Product Wise Payment

Admin can assign payment methods to products by clicking on “Add Product Payment” button.

Admin can choose to assign payment methods to:

• Products
• Categories
• Supplier
• Manufacturer

On clicking “Add Product Payment” button, a new page appears on the screen. When admin select Product in ‘Assign Type’ field, a list of products appear on the page. Admin can:

• Select the products for which he wants to assign the payment methods.
• Select the payment methods that he wants to restrict for the selected products.

Similarly, admin can restrict payment methods for categories, manufacturers, and suppliers.

After assigning the payment methods, admin can view a list of products, categories, manufacturers, suppliers and the payment methods restricted for them under “Product Wise Payment”.

Admin can also change the payment method assigned to a product, category, manufacturer, or supplier and assign another payment method by clicking on Edit button.

Front End View

Once admin has restrict the payment methods, then customer can only view the available payment methods.

Group Wise Payment

Under this tab, admin can restrict payment methods for specific groups of the Prestashop store.

Admin can:

• Specify the cart range and select customer group for which he wants to assign payment methods.
• Select payment methods that he wants to restrict for selected customer groups and specified cart range.

After assigning the payment methods, admin can view a list of groups and the payment methods restricted for them under “Group Wise Payment”.

As set by admin, the payment method “Payments by check” will not be visible to customers who belong to “Customer” group and orders in the range of $10 – $50.
