User Guide for PrestaShop Free Gift Products
Offer customers a free gift with purchase to drive more sales and boost loyalty with PrestaShop Free Gift Products.
Create multiple gift rules based on numerous conditions like cart amount, products, categories, manufacturers, suppliers, countries, customers, and customer groups to offer free gifts.
Increase average order value by setting a minimum subtotal over which a customer has to make a purchase to receive a free gift.
The module lists the free gift products that customers can avail on the store when making a purchase.
Offering shoppers additional incentives like free gifts is an effective way to stimulate purchases, thereby driving more sales.
Features of PrestaShop Free Gift Products
- Allows store owners to offer customers a free gift with purchase.
- Add products that you want to offer as gifts from the back office.
- Create rules to offer free gift products based on various conditions.

- Set the minimum cart amount, based on which free gift product is offered to the customer.

How to Install PrestaShop Free Gift Products
- Firstly, go to the module manager in the back office and click on ‘upload a module’.
- After that, drag and drop the module file or select the file from the system.
- In this way, the module installation will be successful.
PrestaShop Free Gift Products Configuration
Under configuration settings, the admin can choose to:
- Receive email notifications for orders containing free gift products.
- Display popup to customers who are eligible to add free gift products into the shopping cart.
Free gift product popup
If enabled, then the admin can:
- Choose to show free gift product popup on home, category, search, product, and other store pages.
- Display ‘do not show again’ button on free gift product popup.
Add Gift Product and Rule
After the successful installation of the module, two new tabs ‘Gift product’ and ‘Gift rule’ get available in the back office.
From these tabs, the admin can add & manage gift products and gift rules.
Add Gift Product
Click on ‘Add new gift product’ button to add a gift product.
Now, search and select the products you want to offer as gift products.
The admin can choose to add all the combinations or specific combination as gift product.
Once selected and saved, the admin can view the list under gift product tab.
The admin can delete the gift card product by clicking on delete button.
Also, the admin can delete multiple gift products at once. Just select the gift products and click on delete selected under bulk actions.
Please note that the customizable products cannot be offered as gift items.
Add Gift Rule
The admin can add gift rules to manage the display of gift products based on:
- Cart amount
- Products
- Categories
- Suppliers
- Manufacturers
- Countries
- Customers
- Customer Groups
Click on ‘Add new gift rule’ button to add a gift rule.
Add Information
Under the information tab, the admin can:
- Set the name of the rule. This name is for identifying the rule in case the admin creates multiple rules.
- Enter the description of the gift rule.
- Enable or disable the rule.
- Set the date range for which the rule will be applicable.
- Select gift products on which gift rule will be applicable.
Conditions
After adding the details, the admin can now configure the conditions based on which the gift rule will work.
The admin can set the following 5 conditions to offer free gift products to customers.
- Total cart amount
- Product in cart
- Country
- Customer
- Customer group
Please note the admin needs to enable at least one condition for the gift rule to work.
Total cart amount
The admin needs to define the minimum amount based on which free gift product will display to customer.
If a customer’s cart total is equal to or more than the minimum cart amount, then only the customer would be eligible for a free gift product.
Front End View
As per the rule, if the cart total is equal to or more than $ 49.99, then customer can avail free gift product.
If the cart total is less than $ 49.99, then free gift products won’t display as shown in the below screenshot.
Include tax, shipping, and discount
If enabled, then product tax, product discount, and shipping charges will be considered to evaluate cart amount for placing an order.
Suppose the admin has set $ 59 as minimum cart amount.
In the above screenshot, we can see that product discount, tax, and shipping charges have been applied to the cart total.
Since cart total is more than $ 59, free gift products are being displayed on the cart page.
Suppose the admin has disabled the inclusion of tax, discount, and shipping to the cart amount.
Now the tax, discount, and shipping amount will not be considered in the cart amount. Therefore, free gift products are not displayed.
Product in cart
This condition enables the admin to offer free gift products on the purchase of specific products and products belonging to specific categories, suppliers, or manufacturers.
Product
In the product field, the admin can select the products on whose purchase, free gift products will be available.
As per the condition, free gift products are available on the purchase of products selected by the admin.
Categories
The customers can avail free gift products if they purchase the products that belong to the categories selected by the admin in the ‘Category’ field.
As per the condition, free gift products are available on the purchase of products belonging to the selected categories.
The customer has added a product ‘Mug The adventure begins’ to the cart. Therefore, free gift product are displayed on the shopping cart page.
Please note that the specific category condition applies only when the product’s default category matches.
Similarly, the admin can select suppliers & manufacturers and customers who purchase their products can avail free gift product.
Please note that the gift rule will work if any of the condition i.e. product, categories, supplier, or manufacturer is met.
Let me explain this with the help of an example.
Suppose the admin has selected “the adventure begins framed poster” and “Today is a good day framed poster in ‘Product’ field” and “accessories” in the category field.
Now if a customer adds any of the selected products or product that belong to the selected category, free gift products will display on the cart page.
In the above screenshot, it can be seen that free gift products are displayed as the customer has added a product from the Accessories category.
Country
The admin can select countries whose customers can avail free product gifts on purchase.
It can be seen in the above screenshot, free gift product are displayed as the customer is from United States.
Customer
This condition lets admin select particular customers to whom he wants to offer free product gifts.
As per rule, the free gift products are available for customer Daisy Doe on purchase.
Customer Group
This condition enables the admin to select customer groups whose members can avail free product gifts on purchase.
Display of Free Gift Product Popup on Store Pages
Free gift product popup will display on the store pages enabled by the admin under Configuration.
Home page
As enabled, free gift product popup will display on the home page, and ‘do not show again’ button will show in popup.

Adding Free Gift Product to Cart
Customer can select the product he would like as a gift product and click on the ‘add product’ button to add it to the cart.
Once added to shopping cart, the customer can place an order by following the standard PrestaShop process.
Free gift product will display on order details page to both admin & customer and invoice.
