Note: PrestaShop AI Product Recommendations module is compatible with PrestaShop version 9.x.x and multi-store feature.

Minimum System Requirement (API Setup)

The following minimum system requirements are needed for this module.

Python Version – 3.10
RAM (4 GB)
Space (16 GB)
Server key and cert files (for Flask API)
Docker (Optional)
Two ports (8000 and 5000 as per module development)
API Key (If you would like to use Hosted Platforms Gemini, OpenAI, etc. for creating embeddings) – Optional

To install AI module, we need SSH access. You can also check the AI Models Server Installation Guide and ChromaDB Installation Guide for reference.

How to Install PrestaShop AI Product Recommendations

Firstly, go to the module manager in the back office and click on ‘upload a module’.
After that, drag and drop the module file or select the file from the system.
In this way, the module installation will be successful.

AI Product Recommendations Configuration

General Settings

ChromaDB endpoint – Admin needs to enter the ChromaDB Endpoint.ChromaDB endpoint.

Server Endpoint – Enter the Server Endpoint address.

API key – Here the admin enters API key. This key is used to create embeddings.

Check connection with chroma database: Click on check connection button to check the connection with chroma database.

ChromaDB has been used here as a vector database.
A server endpoint is required to fetch product recommendations on the website. So, we need to install this on your server. Please contact us for installation.

Once saved, the admin will get an option to delete ChromaDB collections.

AI Settings

Under AI Settings, the admin can:

Enable to automatically embed products on ChromaDB server when the products are added or updated from the catalog.
Choose to show AI recommended products block on product details and shopping cart pages.
Set AI recommended products block title.
Configure the number of products to display in AI recommended products block.
Set the distance value. A lesser distance value provides highly relevant recommendations and higher distance yields less relevant recommendations.
