A complete guide for Odoo Website Birthday Reminder

INTRODUCTION

Odoo Website Birthday Reminder module allows sending birthday greetings to customers on their birthday. Admin can set cron scheduler settings which help to send birthday greetings automatically to the customer. Odoo Website Birthday Reminder also has the feature to send greetings a few days before the date of birth. Using the module you can selectively send birthday greetings so either it can be for all customers or only to the portal users.

The Odoo website birthday reminder allows you to send birthday greetings to your users on their birthdays.
It helps retain customers and attract them to your website by making them feel valued.
It gives you an option to select the users from the backend.
You can select all users or only portal users accordingly.
You have the authority to set the cron scheduler from the odoo backend for sending birthday wishes.
Birthday greetings will be sent automatically using the cron scheduler a few days before the birthday date customers.
You can edit and create the email templates from the Odoo backend and can also do the cron settings.
You can change the templates for different customers for birthday greetings from the Odoo backend.

INSTALLATION

Once you have purchased the module from our Webkul store, you will receive a link to download the zip file of the module.
Extract the file on your system after the download finishes. You will be able to see a folder named- ‘birthday_reminder’.
Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
Now, open the Odoo and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode. You can activate the developer mode by typing ‘debug’ after ‘web?’ in the URL as well.
Now, open the Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List‘.
In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘birthday_reminder’.
You will be able to see the module in the search result. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.

WORKFLOW

Once the Odoo Website Birthday Reminder module is installed, visit the Website app from the Odoo backend and follow the path Reminder>>Birthday Reminder.

Here, you will be able to view the list of reminders. Click on the ‘Create’ button to create a new reminder.

Now define the Event name, Select to whom you want to send the greetings, enable/disable the reminder option, define the particular email template which you want to send, and define the number of days before you want to send the greetings.
Once done with defining all selective fields you can save the settings, by clicking on the save button.

After that, click on the Email template field, and it will redirect to the template page.

Now, define the template name, select to whom it will apply, define the content to be sent, email configuration, and advanced settings. Once done click on the save button.
