    User Guide for Odoo POS Partial Payment

    INTRODUCTION

    Buy now and pay later in POS with Odoo POS Partial Payment!

    Customers sometimes face difficulties making payments, especially when they buy expensive stuff. So, they need an option that can allow them to pay in installments or partially. It’s also essential to permit partial payment to customers to increase their purchasing capacity.

    However, in Odoo POS partial payment option is not available.

    So, How to allow partial payment to customers?

    The solution is Odoo POS Partial Payment which allows your customers to pay the partial amount for the order. It helps you to validate partial payment and unpaid orders in POS. This module not only helps increase sales of products but in parallel, helps to retain your customers.

    FEATURES

    • POS users can invoice and validate partial order payments.
    • From the backend, the admin can register payments in a corresponding invoice.
    • Also, the admin can set payment terms to deny partial payment for particular customers.
    • POS users require to enter a remark/description while validating partially paid orders for future reference.

    INSTALLATION

    1. Once you purchase the App from Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the zip file of the module.
    2. Extract the file on your system after the download finishes. You will be able to see a folder named- ‘wk_pos_partial_payment.’
    3. Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
    4. Now, open the Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.
    5. Then, open the Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List.’
    6. In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘wk_pos_partial_payment.’
    7. You will be able to see the module in the search result. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.

    WORKFLOW CONFIGURATION

    1. Firstly, Log in to your Odoo backend and go to ‘Point of Sale> Configuration> Point of Sale’ and under ‘Pricing’ locate and enable ‘Allow Partial Payment.’

    2. Once done, go to ‘Invoicing> Configuration> Partial Terms> Immediate Payment.’

    3. From here, you can deny partial payments for a customer by ticking the checkbox next to ‘Don’t Allow Partial Payment in POS.’ If this tick box is checked, particular customers won’t be able to pay partially for their purchase.

    4. After that, go to ‘Point Of Sale’ and open the ‘POS Session’ and place an order for a product, and on the ‘Payment’ page, choose ‘Invoice’ and add ‘Remark.’ Also, add partial payment and click ‘Validate.’

    5.  After validating, you can see the partial payment invoice.

    6. For checking the payment remark in the backend. Go to ‘Orders> Orders’ and open the order with the partial payment. Click the ‘Invoice’ option to view the ‘Remark’ and partial payment invoice.
