User Guide for ERPnext Power BI Connector
Introduction
ERPNext Power BI Connector integrates your ERPNext data with Power BI, enabling seamless data management and reporting. It helps you create workspaces, store data efficiently, and transfer it with ease.
With ERPNext Power BI Connector, you can set up eventhouses, build KQL databases, and manage structured data flow, making data analysis more accessible and insightful.

Installation
- After purchasing the app from the Webkul store, you will receive a link to download the module ZIP file.
- Extract the downloaded ZIP file, and you will see a folder named ‘erpnext_powerbi_connector’.
- Set up the module in your Git repository.
- If the app is hosted on GitHub, fetch it using the command:
bench get-app --branch main https://github.com/your_account/erpnext_powerbi_connector.git
- (Replace “main” with your branch name and replace the “HTTPs URL” with your HTTPS clone URL.)
- Install the app on your site using the command:
bench --site <your-site_name> install-app erpnext_powerbi_connector
- Finally, run the “bench migrate” command to complete the installation.
Workflow
- After installing ERPNext Power BI Connector, log in to your ERPNext instance and navigate to Power BI Connector from the left menu.
2. After clicking on Power BI Instance, click on the “Add Power BI Instance” button to create a new instance.
3. Fill in the Power BI Instance Details, including Title, API URL, Authorization URL, and Access Method. Once all details are filled in, click Save to create a Power BI instance.
4. Once the connection is successfully established, Connected status will be displayed.
5. Once connected, go to Power BI Connector from left menu to access Power BI Instance, Reports, Dashboards, and Items such as Workspace, Eventhouse, KQL Database, and Table.
6. Here, you can see a list of multiple workspaces along with an option to add a new workspace.
7. Enter Title, select Power BI Instance, and provide Power BI ID. You can also add a Description. Once done, click “Save” to create workspace.
8. Here, you can see that the workspace is published.
9. Here, you can see a list of eventhouses along with an option to add a new event house.
10. Here, you can add a new eventhouse by providing details such as title, workspace, and Power BI ID.
11. Now, you can see that the eventhouse is published.
12. Here, you can see a list of KQL Database along with an option to add a new KQL Database.
13. Here, you can add a new KQL database by providing details such as title, event house, and Power BI ID. The system will automatically detect Query Service URI and Ingestion Service URI.
14. Here, you can see that the KQL database is published with its details, including title, event house, Power BI ID, Query Service URI, and Ingestion Service URI.
Power BI Tables
15. You can see the list of Power BI tables, each linked to a KQL database. The tables are published and display their respective IDs and statuses.
16. Add a new Power BI table by specifying details such as title, associated KQL database, and document type.
Additionally, you can define table columns by providing field names, labels, and data types.
17. You can see that the Power BI table is published, and ingestion mapping is enabled. The table is linked to a specific KQL database and contains multiple fields with different data types.
18. Here, you can see that “Actions” dropdown provides options to export data, delete data, and update schema for the Power BI table.
Reports and Dashboards
19. This screen shows the list of Power BI reports available in the system, including their report names, workspaces, Power BI IDs, and unique report IDs.
