Live Bidding Revamp: Transform Auctions for Historiapostal
Historiapostal is a premier Spanish platform dedicated to the study and trade of postal history. The website serves as a specialized hub for collectors of rare stamps, historical letters, and philatelic artifacts. By providing a dedicated space for “Online Stamp Auctions,” they connect enthusiasts with unique historical documents.
For this project, we custom-developed the Live Auction Module. This bespoke solution is engineered to handle real-time bidding logic, sequential lot management, and interactive administrator controls.

Challenges Faced by the Client
The client needed to move beyond static listings to a dynamic, real-time environment. They faced several technical hurdles:
- Lack of Real-Time Interaction: The standard platform could not support live, synchronized bidding sessions.
- Manual Lot Management: Organizing hundreds of items into a sequential, automated flow was impossible.
- Guest Restrictions: There was no way to let guests view the excitement without allowing unauthorized bids.
- Post-Auction Chaos: Tracking won lots and customer contact details required a centralized, automated dashboard.
Our Solution
We built a comprehensive Live Auction ecosystem from the ground up. The solution features a dedicated Front Office interface where lots appear sequentially. Once a lot is sold, the next one automatically becomes active.
We implemented a Global Increment Logic in the Back Office. This allows the admin to define bid ranges and automatic price increases. To ensure fairness, we added a Buffer Time mechanism. Every new bid resets a custom countdown to prevent last-second “sniping”.
